We Put Christmas Lights on our House and Survived!

We put Christmas lights on our roof last Saturday! It was a little freaky but we lived through it. Our roof is so much steeper than I even realized.  I haven't frequented it much I guess.  And it is so TALL.  So we were a little weary of going towards the edges.  Kirk was laying prostrate during most of the process, which was quite funny. Kirk really wanted to put them up this year so we did it! It looks really great.  But don't worry, we won't officially turn them on until after Thanksgiving.

That doesn't look scary at all does it!

Yikes!! Isn't it a little early?!? I guess you had to beat the snow, because who's crazy enough to hang Christmas lights when the roof actually has snow on it. That'd be a death wish.

scary, scary! One brave dude. If it makes you feel any better, people around here are already hanging their lights to beat the cold. We only mock when they come on right now!

Hey I was up there too people! I was with him every scoot of the way. I had the screw the light bulbs in one at a time ahead of him and then he would attach them. I just didn't want to post the picture we got of me because let's just say I'm not lookin' awesome. but I did help!! :)

That's quite a feat! Somehow you get the feeling from the pictures that if you fell, it wouldn't be just down the roof it would be all the way down the mountain! And Heather, I did notice the picture taken from the roof and thought about YOU taking the picture. You both are brave!

Not only is your house gorgeous but I'm impressed by your ambitiousness to get the lights up. So glad no one broke a neck or two.

Hi, Heather! Your house looks beautiful! That is so funny because Chad hung our lights up last year and got up on the very top high part. He was pretty scared and admitted he was being a baby. After all, he said, guys had to get up here to put the roof on. I was not as brave and stood down below, took pictures, and laughed at him. You are much more supportive!

Your house is gorgeous and I am jealous! I made my husband look at your post to remind him how much I have sacrificed to live in Japan. I think he's jealous too.
Brilliant idea getting the lights up before the snow comes.

Kirk,

You've got to stop wearing those bad idea jeans. Plus they're a little tight, no?
